Colestipol

Colestipol is a medication used to lower cholesterol in the blood. It works by binding to bile acids in the intestines, preventing them from being reabsorbed into the body. This causes the liver to produce more bile acids from cholesterol, which in turn lowers the levels of cholesterol in the blood. Colestipol is often prescribed to individuals with high cholesterol levels who are at risk for heart disease.
