Glyburide

Glyburide, also known as glibenclamide, is a medication commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas, which work by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin and help lower blood sugar levels. Glyburide is usually taken by mouth once or twice daily with meals. It is important to closely monitor blood sugar levels while taking this medication to prevent hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) or hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). Glyburide may also be prescribed in combination with other diabetes medications or insulin therapy to help control blood sugar levels.
